Living coral reefs and some of the colourful creatures that live in them will be part of a new ‘Reef Think Tank’ hitting the street for Brisbane’s World Science Festival Street Science event on 25 and 26 March.

We’re teaming up with the Queensland Government’s Office of the Great Barrier Reef and the marine science experts from QUT to create hands-on activities, experiments and marine science for all at the 2017 World Science Festival.

From the coral touch table, entertaining water experiments, and live underwater crosses to Townsville’s Reef HQ and Queensland Museum’s turtle hatchery, to marine creature craft and a Nikon photo station to snap your own colourful Reef photo, the Reef Think Tank will offer plenty of fun and fascinating experiences across the weekend.

Visitors will be invited to become a Reef Scientist for the day to help keep our Reef great, and go in the draw to win a science expedition to the Great Barrier Reef.

Come and see us from 10am to 4pm, Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 March at the Cultural Forecourt in Brisbane’s South Bank Parklands.

Do you have what it takes to be a scientist for the Great Barrier Reef? Test your knowledge of what's great and not so great for the Reef. Take the Reef Scientist quiz.
