To celebrate their combined love of the Australian summer and the great outdoors, Havaianas has teamed up with Ken Done to create a limited edition style using his iconic Barrier Reef Garden artwork from 1984.

Renowned for his use of bold and vibrant colours, Ken has spent the past four decades depicting the beauty of Australia’s landscapes and creating works of art as unique as the man himself.

Elle Turner, Havaianas Marketing Director, said, “Ken is one of our country’s most legendary artists and as a brand synonymous with summer, we couldn’t think of an artist more aligned with summer and Havaianas than Ken Done.”

“From his original artworks to his printed t-shirts and bedlinen, Australians have grown up with fond memories of Ken, and we hope that people enjoy this collaboration as much as we do”.

Ken Done explains, “Summer to me is all about the great outdoors – the beach, the sun and that feeling of excitement and adventure.

“I chose my Barrier Reef Garden artwork for this exclusive Havaianas style as it’s bright, fun and perfect for Aussies to wear to the beach.”

For every pair sold a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Great Barrier Reef Foundation, the only independent, not-for-profit organisation in Australia dedicated solely to raising funds for scientific research into preserving the Great Barrier Reef.

Ken Done said, “I’ve long found inspiration in the Reef and based many of my works around its awe-inspiring natural beauty. “It’s important, now more than ever, to look at ways of fostering a resilient reef so that we can enjoy it for generations to come, and I’m incredibly pleased that this collaboration is helping to support that cause.”

The Havaianas x Ken Done style will be available in female sizes (35/36 – 41/42) for $49.99. Presale begins on 13 September from Havaianasaustralia.com.au, before hitting participating retailers on Friday 30 September.
